Meet Brandon.

Our God will either make the burden lighter or the back stronger; he will diminish the need or increase the supply.

Brandon M. Roberts, M.Ed., NCC, CFRC, LPC

Hello! My name is Brandon. I’m glad you’re considering seeking help for whatever you’re going through in life right now. I work with clients from diverse backgrounds, working through all sorts of things ranging from depression and anxiety to trauma and grief. I am a Christian, a husband, a father, a classically trained psychotherapist, and a combat veteran, and I believe all these parts of my identity work together to produce who I am as a counselor. All clients seeking help are important to me, but I get a special sense of fulfillment in working with military veterans and first responders.

As a counselor, I take a more eclectic theoretical approach but with strong roots in cognitive behavioral theory. Additionally, I believe the incorporation of the client’s spiritual and religious beliefs can be important in counseling, so when appropriate, and with the permission of the client, I like to bring these into the counseling process as well.

We know that one of the biggest predictors of success in therapy is the quality of the therapeutic relationship. It’s so important that you find a therapist you feel you can trust! So I think it’s great that you’re looking for a professional who will be a good fit for you. If you think we might work well together, I’d be happy to hear from you.

My Fun Side

Being outdoors in the country is so important for my own mental, emotional, and spiritual health. Several years ago, my wife and I decided to move ourselves and our five children out to a 10-acre plot of land several miles outside of town. We have loved every minute of it. It gives us the freedom to stretch out and enjoy God’s creation all around us. I get so much fulfillment out of working the land — taking something raw and developing it into something beautiful and serene.  I also love to cook — both outdoors and indoors. Few things are more enjoyable for me than spending hours slow-smoking a brisket on the offset or cooking a gumbo from scratch, and then opening up our home to show hospitality to our neighbors, friends, and family. “They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts” Acts 2:46

WHAT MY CLIENTS SAY

“I like that you challenge me, but you don’t make me feel judged.”
